Ashley Milton Sperling, 79, of Mineral Wells, passed away on Monday evening, May 10, 2021, in Mineral Wells.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, May 13, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m., at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 14, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Gordon Cemetery, in Gordon, Texas.
Ashley was born on August 24, 1941, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Edgar and Oma Sperling. He was an avid sports fan, in particular baseball, and following his beloved Boston Red Sox. His hobbies included going to estate sales, auctions and adding to his many collections. Ashley will affectionately be remembered for his contagious laugh and for his devotion to his family – particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ashley is survived by his wife, Ruby; children, Rhonda and husband, A.G. Edwards, and Lisa and husband, Chris Franklin; his grandchildren, Michael and wife, Molly, Ashley and wife, Amy, Sonya, Kevin and wife, Jenny, Coleman, Lindsey, Austin and wife, Sarah, Callie, Dillon and his wife, Tina; his great-grandchildren, Hailey, Elena, Milo, Shane, Cameron, Trinity, Levi, Seth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ashley was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Kincaid, and sisters, Ada Kelleher and Edwina Allen.
