Ashley Sturdevant Obituary Ashley Sturdevant, 42, passed away peacefully with family and friends at her bedside on August 1, 2025. Ashley was a devout Christian and has joined her father, Robert, and grandparents, Eileen and Ben Hunt and Chickie and Robert Sturdevant, in Heaven.
Ashley was born in Richmond, Virginia Growing up, her family lived in a variety of cities due to her fathers career as an airline pilot. The family resided in Raleigh, NC; Prescott, AZ; and Plymouth, MN.
During her childhood, Ashley enjoyed playing chess with her father and was an accomplished concert pianist and avid reader of culture and history. She enjoyed the familys annual travels to the UK to visit numerous relatives. She embraced the British culture and knowing more about her mothers family and British countrymen.
Ashley earned her degree with honors in Anthropology at the University of Minnesota. During her years there, she played Rugby for several seasons. After graduation, she relocated to Tucson, AZ, and started her career at Blake Foundation Academy for Children, where she was very engaged and successful. The children easily gravitated to her and grew to love her. She was
a strong believer, was devoted to her job and the children and easily made friends and enjoyed domestic travel.
More recently, she lived for several years in Prescott, AZ. This past year, she was a resident of Plymouth, MN, where she resided with her mother, Valerie. She enjoyed different cultures, especially Korean language, cuisine and listening to KPOP, Korean hiphop. She reveled in watching Brit Box on TV with her mother, especially mysteries and following Wimbledon. She also delighted in following nightly news and the Olympics. Most of all, she will be remembered for her happy personality.
She was a clever, caring and loving daughter, cousin and niece. Ashley is survived by her mother, Valerie, her cousins in Arizona, Stacy (Daniel) and Monica and extensive family in Britain including her aunt Susie Hunt, uncle Michael Hunt, cousin, Sophie and many more.
Ashleys family would especially like to thank the staff and clergy at St. Gertrudes in Shakopee, MN, for their compassionate care of our lovely Ashley in recent weeks. In particular Vicky was a supportive help who went above and beyond. Ashley was the brightest star that faded far too soon.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at her mothers home. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted by the National ATAXIA Foundation in Golden Valley, MN.
