Ashton T. Hams was born on April 2, 1988, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Marla Dixon and Reggie Brooks. He graduated from Southeast High School in 2006. Ashton worked at Water Management and later at Brookdale Senior Living as a food prep specialist.
He was a strong advocate for his community and a great role model to the youth. Known lovingly as “Cuddie,” Ashton helped raise Auhsoj Hams and Sincere Holliday. He was passionate about rapping and loved to cook. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, and he took great pride in dressing sharp and always smelling good.
Ashton departed this life on September 17, 2025. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary L. Norfleet; Marvena Parker; and Harold Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Marla L. Dixon and Reggie J. Brooks; his children, Ashshee, Aubrie, Aushlay, and Ashton; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Ashton will always be remembered for his love, laughter, and the lasting impact he had on his family and community.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC., 2800 E. 18th St. Kansas City, MO 64127. The visitation will begin at 2:00pm, the service will follow at 3:00pm.
