Audrey Wanda Beam Byrum 92 passed away on February 14, 2026, at Boyd County Nursing Home. Audrey was born in
Binghamton, NY. Her parents were Frank and Emily Beam. Siblings Margaret, Gordan and William who all preceded her in death. Audrey married Carlton H. Byrum on November 26, 1961, and they had many wonderful years together. Carlton Passed away in 2023, and Audrey came to live in Kentucky with her nephew and niece Jeff & Teresa Strough of
Grayson, KY. Audrey is also survived by her sister-in-law Phoebe Strough, her nephews Scott and Lewis Strough and nieces Cynthina Albrecht and Dona Bigham. She is also survived by her cousin Sandra Lee Chandler Rowland. After Audrey moved to KY, she had many firsts in life. At 90 she attended her first live football game and was recognized by Kentucky Christian University as a new fan. She was an honorary Cheerleader and attended many home games to cheer for the Knights. She went to Pumpkin House in the fall and admired the 1000's of carved pumpkins that were on display. She said it was amazing. She loved Austin's Homemade Ice Cream, where she went often always for chocolate ice cream. Fall was just beautiful and she loved watching the leaves change. We took many trips around the area to see "God's Beauty" as she called it. In the winter of 2023, Audrey got to see her first snowfall in over 70 years. She loved watching it snow. Audrey experienced many new adventures and when she became a resident at Boyd Nursing, she found new friends. She played games, attended parties and her favorite thing was sitting in the courtyard watching the turtles who lived there roam around. She never failed to pick the winner for the turtle races. Audrey made an impact on every life she touched, and she will be missed by all who knew her. We thank Boyd Nursing Home and their staff for the love and care Audrey was shown while she was there.
