Sarah Jane Hicks

Sarah Jane "Janie" Hicks, 60, of Webbville, Kentucky, went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 16, 2026, at her sister's home. She was born October 26, 1965, in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late John Hicks, Sr., and Sarah Bell Stevens Hicks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Hicks, Jr. Janie was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend with an excellent work ethic and a lifelong love of reading. She was employed by the Smithfield Meat Processing Plant in Grayson, Kentucky, until her battle with cancer made work impossible. Those who knew her valued her steady spirit, kindness, and meek personality. She is survived by two sisters, Peggy (Greg) Prichard of Grayson, Kentucky, and Lisa (James) Stafford of Webbville, Kentucky; one brother, Terry (Erin) Hicks of Willard, Kentucky; four nephews, Johnnie Stafford of Webbville, Kentucky, Terry Hicks, Jr. of Willard, Kentucky, Aaron Hicks of Grayson, Kentucky, and Kendrick Hicks of Willard, Kentucky; two nieces, Hannah Evans of Webbville, Kentucky, and Trinity Prichard of Grayson, Kentucky; four great-nieces, Chrislyn and Brylee Stafford, Kensleigh and Kendall Hicks; and four great-nephews, Hunter Stafford, Kenzer and Kye Hicks, and Henry Evans. She also leaves a host of extended family and friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20, 2026, at Blaines Trace Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Bro. David Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Hicks Family Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 PM until the service time at the church.
