ROCKINGHAM — Audrey Mae Driggers 85, of Rockingham NC, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at home surrounded by her family.
Audrey was born August 7, 1940 in Richmond County to the late Myrtle Lucille Brown and Lonnie Morgan Brown. She attended Hamlet High School and had a career in the retail furniture business and bookkeeping. In later years she was teacher at Jefferson Park Christian School.
Audrey loved the Lord and her family. She was a talented pianist and began playing at church at the age of eleven and continued doing so throughout her life. Audrey also enjoyed writing hymns and painting. She loved her church family at Faith Missionary Baptist where she sang in choir, did specials and taught Sunday School.
Along with her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband Wilbert Bernie Driggers Sr, son Wilbert Bernie Driggers Jr, sister Ledia Beaver and son-in-law Timothy Dane Young.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Jackie Elaine Young of Rockingham, brother Aulton Bruce Brown (AB) wife Barbara of Plant City FL sister-in-law Bettie West of John's Creek GA, sister of the heart Trena Curtis of Chesterfield SC, many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her beloved church family.
Services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church Hatcher Rd. Visitation is at 12:00-1:00 p.m. The funeral begins at 1:00, officiated by Pastor Travis Wilkerson, Rev David Lee and Dr AB Brown, followed by the Interment Service at Richmond County Memorial Park in the mausoleum chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Faith Missionary Baptist of Rockingham 276 Hatcher Rd. Rockingham, NC 28379.
