Funeral service for Ms. Audrey Kathleen Scott Johnson, 93, of Swartz, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Swartz First Baptist Church with Rev. Jay George officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, October 6, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
Ms. Johnson was born on February 1, 1930, in Swartz, LA, and passed away on October 2, 2023, in Swartz, LA. She was a member of Swartz First Baptist Church, joining the church when she was 6 years old. Ms. Johnson worked and retired from the Visual State Welfare Office. Her favorite past time was writing poems about people from Swartz and the Swartz First Baptist Church.
Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Solomon Roy and Nannie Mae Scott; brothers, Archie (Roszlia), Harold (Nancy), and Sidney (Shirlene); sisters, Rivers, Christine, and Dorothy (Teal); and daughter, Donna K. Johnson Welch.
Survivors include her brother, Jesse “J.D.” Gee Scott (Darla); nephews, Randy Scott (Vicki), Sidney Allen Scott (Sarah), Dennis Roy Scott, Jesse Brent Scott, Dennis Ted Gray (Teresa), William Earl Gray (Sue Ellen), Timothy Scott (Carol), and James Scott; nieces, Cheryl Scott Richardson (Bud), Dorothy Jean Cockrell, Melanie Davis (Paul), and Becky Flood; and numerous other great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Randy Scott, Ted Gray, Sidney Alan Scott, Dennis Roy Scott, Skyler Scott, Lance Scott, Brent Scott, and Gaige Brewer. Honorary pallbearers will be Beryl Humphries, Timothy Scott, Paul Davis, and Jimmy Scott.
Memorials may be made to the Swartz First Baptist Church.
