Audrey Carolyn Lock

 

Audrey Carolyn Lock, age 86, of Glenwood, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023.

 

She was born on October 26, 1936, in Rosboro, the daughter of Jasper Audrey Jackson Pounds and Vela Francis Ledbetter Pounds.  On July 18, 1958, she was married to the true love of her life, Richard Joseph Lock, who preceded her in death on November 24, 2022.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Richard Donald Lock, her parents, and her brother, Larry Max Pounds.

 

Carolyn was a faithful member of the Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Glenwood.  She loved her Lord and Savior, and always made sure each of her children and grandchildren knew the Lord and the plan of salvation, making sure to teach them how important it was to her that her entire family be together in heaven.  

 

Above all, Carolyn was a devoted homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who dearly loved every member of her family.  She spent her entire life putting her family first, never asking for anything for herself.  She was a true example of kindness and love and led her life as a shining example for her family to follow, as well as anyone who knew her.  She was usually quiet by nature, and never someone who interfered in anyone’s life, but if you were to need anything she would do her very best to make sure she was there to help.  In her last days, Carolyn’s greatest joy was watching her birds and her beautiful flower gardens.  Carolyn will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

Carolyn is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Sonya Lock, Billy and Paula Lock, all of Glenwood, and Ben and Angela Lock of Caddo Gap; her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Arlie Francis of Glenwood; her daughter-in-law, Susan Lock of Glenwood; her nine grandchildren, Trista Francis, Amanda Derrick, Ryan Lock, Brant Lock, Adam Lock, Justin Lock, Ethan Lock, Brandon Lock and Josh Francis; seventeen great-grandchildren; three brothers and sister-in-law, Harlon Pounds and Doyle Pounds, both of Kirby; Jerry and Carla Pounds of Amity; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Paul Alexander of Glenwood and Paula and Billy Barrett of Amity; two brothers-in-law, Gordon Lock of Glenwood and Doyce Self of Oklahoma; her sister-in-law, Sharon Pounds of Smithville; her special aunt and friend, Lonetta Lock of Glenwood; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.  

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 7, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Kyle Cowart, Bro. Brian Pounds and Bro. Bobby Lock officiating.

 

Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Caddo Gap.

 

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ryan Lock, Brant Lock, Adam Lock, Justin Lock, Ethan Lock, Brandon Lock and Josh Francis.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Elite Hospice and their special nurses, Chelsie, Maleah, and Julie, Barbara Hill, Kyle and Dana Cowart and Sonya Lock, whose love and care, given by all, is so very much appreciated by our entire family…you made her last days so peaceful and full of love.
