Robert Lock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wasson Funeral Home - Siloam Springs on Jan. 28, 2026.
Robert (Bob) Allen Lock, age 77, of Gentry, Ark., passed away on 30 December 2025 at his home.

Bob was born on 29 February 1948 in Eldorado, KS. To George W. and Alice L. (Thompson) Lock.

Throughout his life he enjoyed woodworking, Black Smithing, riding and rebuilding motorcycles, dancing and listening to music.

Bob dedicated his life to building homes throughout Eastern Kansas and Southwest Missouri, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and durability. He founded Lock Construction in 1976 and owned and operated the company until his retirement. Even after retiring, he continued doing remodels, upgrades, and odd jobs, always maintaining the high standards he was known for. A builder of uncommon skill and integrity, he took deep pride in his work and was widely recognized for the lasting quality of the homes he built.

Bob had the easy, familiar manner of a natural storyteller, speaking with his hands as if they were part of the tale. His gestures punctuated his words, shaping memories in the air and giving his stories humor, heart, and unmistakable authenticity.

His hands were rough and weathered from a lifetime of hard work, marked by scars that never slowed him down. They held tight, worked hard, and were always gentle when it mattered most. His smile was a crooked, one-sided grin-full of mischief, warmth, and humor.

Bob was a simple man and liked simple things; a warm cup of coffee, a good cigar, the sun on his face, sweets of all kinds, a hot fire on a cold day, a sanctuary to tinker around in, and good conversation.

If you knew Bob, you knew his shop was his second home- a laboratory of craft where you could hear the sharp ring of the blacksmith's anvil , the rhythmic sigh of the planer and the chatter of a scroll saw. It was his true solace in the sawdust, a place where he was truly himself.

Robert Lock is survived by his daughters, Dawn Fausett and Heather White; his stepson, Scott Puryear; his son-in-law, David White; his grandchildren, Boston Fausett, Penelope White and Kalliope White; his sister-in-law Joella Lock; and his two nieces, Melanie Lock and Annora Lock.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his brother William (Bill) Lock.
