**Obituary for Audrey Faye Loyal**

*January 9, 1954 – January 27, 2026*

Audrey Faye Loyal's life was a testament to love, faith, and perseverance. Her warmth, laughter, and wisdom touched the lives of all who knew her. She is deeply missed and will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of crossing her path.

Audrey Faye Loyal was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Hayward Morris Scott and Lillian Mary Scott. She was the third of six children and shared close bonds with her siblings: Hayward Morris Scott Jr., Wanda, Luzine, Tony, and Charlene. From the start, Audrey was known for her feisty spirit, strength, and loving heart-qualities that defined her life.

She graduated from Highland Park High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Spelman College in Atlanta. It was during her time at Spelman that she met Philemon Loyal, whom she married on June 11, 1977. The couple later moved to Atlanta, where they raised their son, Malachi.

Audrey served as Legal Practice Administrator for The Dan-Fodio Law Group for 27 years, playing a vital role in the firm's growth and success. Widely respected throughout the Civil, Criminal, and Municipal courts, she continued her professional service after retirement as a practice consultant to Akil Dan-Fodio of Dan-Fodio Law & Associates.

In 1999, Audrey and her husband joined Fellowship of Faith Church International, where she faithfully served on the prayer team for many years. A devoted Christian and prayer warrior, Audrey believed deeply in the power of prayer and consistently lifted others up in faith.

Known as the "glue" of the family, Audrey kept loved ones connected and supported. She was also a passionate advocate for legal preparedness, often encouraging family members to keep their affairs in order-a reflection of her wisdom and care.

Audrey leaves behind her husband, Phil; her son, Malachi; her granddaughters, Kayla and Kylie; her siblings Wanda, Luzine, Tony, and Charlene; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cherished friends in Atlanta and Detroit. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Hayward Morris Scott Jr.

Audrey Faye Loyal leaves a legacy of faith, love, and service, a life beautifully lived, and an impact that will be felt for generations.

A Celebration of Life service, honoring Audrey's remarkable journey, will occur at New Jerusalem Christian Ministries in Lithonia, GA, on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Following the service, Audrey will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery in Decatur, GA, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6th, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
