Anton J. "Bud" Loyal

Anton J. "Bud" Loyal, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Lake Zurich, IL. He was born August 4, 1931, in Chicago, IL, had been a 40-yr. resident of Wheeling, IL and a 26-yr. resident of Saddlebrook in Grayslake, IL, currently living in Lake Zurich.

Bud served 8 years in the United States Navy during the Korean War on the USS Lucerne Ship and also in Japan and Korea. He had the great honor to experience the Honor Flight with his daughters, a trip that will always be remembered and treasured. Bud had a longtime career retiring as a manager at IBM Corporation after 34 years in the Chicagoland area and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Wheeling and St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish in Fremont Center. He enjoyed reading, traveling, cruises and most of all he dedicated his life to give service to his family, his church and his country.

Surviving is his wife of 72 years, Deon Loyal; 5 children, Patrick (Kendra) Loyal, Diana Kopper, Linda (Hank) Kmieciak, Dan (Nancy) Loyal and Steve Loyal; grandchildren, Scott (Margi) Kopper, Tom (Joanne) Kopper, Chris (Jessica) Kmieciak, Matt (Allie) Kmieciak, Jennifer Loyal and Jessica Loyal; great-grandchildren, Payton, Brooke, Aiden, Brady, James, Charlotte and Grace Kopper and Grant Kmieciak.

He was preceded in death by 8 siblings.

A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. on April 7, 2025, at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 22333 W. Earhart Rd., Fremont Center, IL. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
