August Cantavenera

AUGUST CANTAVENERA, age 69, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Holy Saturday, April 19, 2025. Beloved son of Vincent and the late Anna Cantavenera (nee LaGreca); loving brother of Angelo (Theresa) and Dominic; nephew of the late Michael LaGreca (Elaine), Theresa Comella (William), and Dominic LaGreca (Angela); devoted cousin and friend of many.
August was a 1975 graduate of Lincoln West High School. He also attended Cleveland State University. August was an employee of River Copy and Mail Company working in the data entry department entering information for mailing lists, and no challenge was too great for August. He also attended Southwest, Brooklyn, and Parma Adult Activity Centers. August had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. He loved his family, and he was very proud of his Italian heritage. Visiting extended family in Sicily a few times was a highlight of his life. Everyone who met August became a friend. Despite his health challenges throughout his life, August always had a positive attitude. He persevered with dignity and grace. He was loved and will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve www.hospicewr.org. Mass of Christian burial at St. John Bosco Church, Friday, April 25, 2025 at 10 A.M. Please meet at church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends received at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL ROAD (AT SNOW RD.) THURSDAY 4-7 P.M.
