Augustina “Tina” Pacheco, age 89, passed away peacefully in her home on October 5, 2025. She was born on September 17, 1936, in Dawson, New Mexico.
Tina was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a love for dancing, a warm heart, a deep love for her family and was an amazing cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eliseo Pacheco; daughter, Rosemarie Marquez; son, Anthony Frank Martinez; stepson Lee Pacheco, Jr.; parents, Paul and Youfe Casias; aunt Mary T. Wilson; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Lucy Casias; and sisters, Vangie (and husband Bonifacio Mondragon), Gloria Ortiz and Esther Cameron.
Tina is survived by her children, son, Paul Martinez (wife Debbie), son-in-law Antonio Marquez; daughters Jeanette Martinez (Alex), Debbie Martinez, and Lori Martinez; stepchildren, Vicki Weaver (husband Chuck), Veronica Pacheco and Vincent Pacheco (wife Julie).
She leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members, as well as dear friends and neighbors Joe and Veronica Mares and longtime friends Bobby and Cleo Duran.
Tina worked for many years in a gallery on Taos Plaza, where she discovered a deep appreciation for jewelry and the artwork of local artists. She loved sharing stories about Taos with visitors and took great pride in the beautiful place she called home for most of her life.
Her warmth, kindness, and passion for her community will be remembered by all who knew her.
