Augustinas Vaicius Obituary
TROY - Augustinas "Augie" Vaicius passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his own home, on July 23, 2025, with his devoted partner, Judy, by his side. Augie was born in Stuttgart, Germany, on May 5, 1946, where his family had fled from the Russian Occupation of their home in Lithuania after WWII. They emigrated to Hudson, N.Y., in 1948, where Augie grew up attending Catholic schools. Augie attended three years at Fordham University before joining the Army in 1966, and serving in Vietnam and Germany until 1969. He enjoyed selling imported cars in the Boston area until he returned to Hudson in 1984 to aid his ailing parents. He met his life partner, Judy Meyer, in Hudson, where they both enjoyed selling real estate in that historic city. Augie also enjoyed motorcycle touring on winding mountain roads in the Catskills, the Blue Mountains, and the Colo. Rockies. They retired to Troy, N.Y., where they enjoyed participating in the revitalization of yet another historic city.
Arrangements are private; there will be no viewing or funeral service.
Gifts may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with Augie's Family online at SimpleChoicesCremation.com

When Kathleen & I moved onto Ferry st in Troy, we had the honor and privilege to meet several folks through Jackie & Tom Kello´s get togethers. Augie was always very kind whenever we would see one another. A smile would always come to our faces whenever we would see Augie & Carl enjoying coffee outside Superior or Alias and we´d stop to have a brief chat.
