Aurelio is survived by his loving parents, Manuel and Catalina Alanis; his sons, Humberto and Jose Alanis; and his siblings, Valentin, Juan, Samuel, and Maria Alanis. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved aunt, Raquel Alanis, uncle, Hilario Sanchez, nephew, Angel Alanis, and his paternal grandparents, Epifanio and Aurelia Alanis, as well as his maternal grandparents, Leonardo and Antonia Sanchez.
