Aurora E. Maldonado from Sinton, Texas passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025. She was 77.

Aurora was born on August 15, 1948 in Taft, Texas. She was the beloved daughter of the late Roberto and Guadalupe (Vega) Elizardo.

Aurora built a beautiful and lasting legacy through her family, raising 10 children and becoming a proud grandmother to 30 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 27 great-grandchildren. She was known for her love of sewing, dancing, gardening, crafting and especially for her joy in listening to music - passions that brought warmth and creativity into every corner of her life.

She is preceded in death by her sons: Guadalupe Maldonado and Martin Anthony Maldonado; her parents: Roberto and Guadalupe Elizardo; sisters: Antonia Hacker, Estella Rangel and Odelia Martinez; and her former husband: Manuel Maldonado, Jr.

Aurora is survived by her devoted companion of 35 years: Martin G. Martinez from Sinton, Texas; son: Kevin Maldonado from Ingleside, Texas; daughters: Elsie Cancino (Marty) from Sinton, Texas and Betsy Maldonado from Corpus Christi, Texas; brothers: Roberto Elizardo (Antonia) from Taft, Texas, Ruben Elizardo from Woodsboro, Texas and Raymond Elizardo (Ramina) from Taft, Texas; and her cherished twin sister: Audelia Silvas from Corpus Christi, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at 7:00 PM that evening at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Taft, with burial to follow at Lamas Memorial Park Cemetery, Taft.

Pallbearers will be Paul John Galindo, Justin Maldonado, Oscar Maldonado, Jr., Zachary Reyes, Mark Maldonado and Orlando Maldonado.
