Tate III, Austin Alexander age 84, of Old Hickory, TN, passed away on January 6, 2025. Bucky (as he was called) was born on June 17, 1940, in Kimball, TN. After attending the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, he went to work for TVA. He worked there until he retired in 1998. He played golf at McCabe Golf Course with the Sweathogs and friends for years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie D. Tate, his sister, Sammie Bonner, and his daughter-in-law Tammy Tate.

He is survived by:

Sons – David (Martha) Tate and Eric Tate.

Grandchildren – Anthony (Becca), Dustin (Jennifer), Sarah, and Caleb

Great Grandchild – Layla

Siblings – Jerry (Saundra) Tate, Jean Haskins, and Brenda (Paul) Buchek

Several Nieces and Nephews

Sisters-in-law – Margaret French, Jean Parks, and Mary King

The family will have a Celebration of Life later this year.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Wounded Warriors or the American Cancer Society.
