MORTON – Austin R. Benson, 28, of Morton, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023.
Austin was born on October 2, 1995 in Peoria, Illinois, to Todd and Norma (Garcia) Benson.
Surviving are his daughter, Estella Lee Benson, parents, Todd and Norma Benson of Morton; sister, Rosanna (Chris) Woods of Morton; brother, Victor Lopez of Normal; grandparents, Gary and Judy Benson of Morton; nephew, Corey Woods; niece, Lilyana Woods; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Jesus S. Garcia and Petra M. Garcia.
Our beloved Austin loved his daughter, Estella, dearly.
He also enjoyed fishing, camping and his Philadelphia Eagles.
A funeral service will be held for Austin at 12 noon, Friday, January 5, 2024, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
Memorials may be made to a fund established to help provide for Austin’s daughter. Please direct donations to CEFCU in Morton under the account “Norma M Benson FBO Estella L Benson”.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
