Austin Garner

Richard Austin Garner, 21, of Franklin, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Austin was born on April 30, 2004, in Carrollton, Georgia, to John Christopher Garner II and Katharine Folk Frost. He was a 2022 graduate of Carrollton High School and served in the United States Army. Most recently, he worked as a laborer with power company.
He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and had a deep love for the outdoors. He found joy in camping, hunting, reading, and studying history. His adventurous spirit and kind heart will be remembered by all who knew him.
Austin is survived by his mother and stepfather, Katie and James Frost; his father and stepmother, John and Kim Garner; siblings: Maddie Musick, Sawyer Frost, James Frost, Molly Garner, Anna Garner, Ruby Garner; maternal grandmother Teresa Folk; step paternal grandmother, Dianne Rutherford; step paternal grandfather, Charles and Sharon Frost; maternal great grandmother, Sue Ellen Folk; maternal great great aunt, Penny Ames; paternal grandparents, Jeff and Karen Brown; step maternal grandparents, Danny and Debra Montgolf; paternal great grandmothers, Mary Frances Peters and Joyce Brown and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Folk; maternal great-grandfather, Dr. Richard A. Folk; paternal great grandfathers, Charles Peters and Jerry Lamar Brown.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Almon Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home.
