Rosewood Heights-Austin G. Monetti, 29, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Paige Marie Monetti (Seidler). Austin and Paige shared an extraordinary bond, and together they were in the midst of building their future. They had been walking hand-in-hand through the IVF journey and were just months away from a planned embryo transfer in August. Their hearts were full of hope, and they looked forward to growing their family, lovingly preparing their dogs, Nyx and Nya, for promotion to big sisters.
Austin's biggest dreams were building a house on as many acres as he could afford, starting a family with Paige, and earning a black belt in Jiu Jitsu.
Austin was a man of many passions and a heart full of drive. A hardworking welder/screener at Metro East Industries, he took pride in his work. A lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers, he carried his team's spirit with pride. He found joy and peace in the outdoors, especially while hunting turkey and deer, and he loved the freedom of riding his motorcycle on the open road. Austin grew up playing football, but in recent years, he discovered a deep commitment to jiu-jitsu at Headnod HQ, where he worked tirelessly and proudly earned his blue belt in October. One of his greatest joys was traveling with his wife, Paige. Their adventures were filled with laughter, playfulness, love, and the simple happiness of being together. He also cherished the time spent with his longtime best friend, Brett, whose friendship was a constant source of strength, fun, and brotherhood.
Born Oct. 13, 1995 in Alton he was the son of Eugene and Rhonda (Hallows) Monetti of Bunker Hill.
Austin married the love of his life Paige Marie Seidler on Oct. 17, 2020. She will miss him forever, as will his parents, Eugene and Rhonda Monetti; his mother-in-law, Tina Seidler; his grandmother, Carol "Mimi" Hallows; his best friend Brett Graham; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Eric and Jessica Huebner; his brother and sister-in-law, Brandon and Tabitha Monetti; his Aunt Mary and Uncle Danny Desherlia; his Aunt Dawn and Uncle Doug Casen; his nieces and a nephew, Ellie and Emrie Huebner, Macy Gibson, and Brock "Rocco" Huebner; his favorite dog Nyx, second favorite dog Nya; and many other extended family and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa Eugene Monetti, Jr.; great grandfather George Nelson; and great grandmother Mildred Bohnenstiehl; and his father-in-law Patrick Seidler.
A celebration of Austin's life will be held from 1-3 p.m. Friday, May 2nd at Paynic Home for Funerals. Afterward, since Austin loved a good barbecue, one will be held in his honor at the Optimist Pavilion at Belk Park in Wood River at 4 p.m.
