Austin James Nielson, 30, tragically passed away on July 29, 2025 in West Jordan, Utah. He was born December 20, 1994 in Sandy, Utah to Thomas Rue Nielson and Janel Rutland McDaniel. He married the love of his life, and high school sweetheart, Brianne Nielson on August 19, 2016. Austin was full of life and adventure. If you knew him, you loved him. He had a genuine care about other people and always made sure you left him with a smile on your face. He had an unprecedented work ethic. He put everything he had in his work, and grew with each employer. His coworkers would say, "He was not only a great teammate but a truly great person who left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with. We will remember him for the way he carried himself, the relationships he built and the positive impact he had on so many lives." Austin loved to camp, hunt and be with his family in the mountains. He always had an amazing smile on his face, and it was his personal goal to make people around him laugh. He has an amazing son that was his whole world; their friendship was one to be jealous of. He would play games with him, hang out with him, and teach him how to work hard, be a gentleman, and honor his mother. His wife was his top priority. He always made sure she had the things she needed, that she was comfortable and knew she was loved. He loved his family fiercely, and showed that in his daily actions. Bree was his queen, and he proved it every day. Austin is survived by his wife Brianne, his son Oliver, his parents Janel McDaniel (Wyatt), Thomas Nielson (Angela) , his sisters Paige, Kaylee and brother Jordan. He also had bonus siblings Alex (Jenn), and Mercedes (Erick). He had in-laws Brock (Lara), Bailee (Caleb), Father-in-law Robert (Michelle). His childhood best friend (aka brother from another mother) Tyson and many other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Grandparents. Far too many to mention. There will be a celebration of life for Austin on August 4th at 11:00am at Serenity Funeral Home 13863 S 2700 W Suite 101F, Bluffdale Utah 84020. After which he will be laid to rest at Redwood Memorial at 2:00pm. The family would like to thank all those that have reached out and shared their support. His employers at DLB and Siemens have shown up in ways we never expected. The kind words, meals and genuine concern for our family have been overwhelming.
