Austin Lee Perkins, born on November 19, 1984, in Warsaw, Indiana, to Dawson and Connie (Miller) Perkins, passed away at his home in North Fort Myers on June 5, 2025. He was a beloved figure in both his personal and professional life, known for his determination, strong will, and infectious sense of humor that drew people to him.
Austin's educational journey began at Warsaw High School. After his time in high school, he embarked on a career at R&B Car Company. It was here that Austin discovered his true passion for sales, eventually expanding his expertise to include financing. His dedication and charismatic demeanor made him a cherished member of the team, and he made many friends along the way.
Austin was a person who embodied resilience and strength, characteristics that were evident in all aspects of his life. As a jokester, he had an unparalleled ability to bring joy to those around him, often leaving friends and co-workers with smiles on their faces. His engaging personality made it easy for others to connect with him. During football season, Austin always enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts.
The loving memory of Austin Perkins will be forever cherished by his mother and step-father, Connie and Chris Gates, North Fort Myers, Florida; sons, Kole Dillon, North Fort Myers, Florida; Dawson Lee Perkins, Fort Stewart, Georgia; siblings, Angela (Luisa Sauro) Perkins, Cleveland, Ohio, Ryan (Tracy) Perkins, Warsaw, and Ethan Perkins, Claypool; nieces, Morgan Price, Sophia Price, Bayleigh Garber, and Nova Perkins; and his Goldendoodle, Misty. Austin was preceded in death by his father, Dawson Perkins.
A visitation in honor of Austin will be held on June 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at McKee Mortuary, located at 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location beginning at 12:00 PM and concluding at 1:00 PM.
Family and friends may call Friday, June 20, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor Charles Trout and Pastor Bernis Ousley officiating. Burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Claypool, Indiana.
