Ava Duplessis Dixon, age 70, passed away at home on December 23, 2025. She was born on May 27, 1955, in Gonzales, Louisiana, and resided in Galvez, Louisiana. Ava found much joy in fishing and gardening with her husband Lyle, photography, watching her grandkids play sports, and all things outdoors. Whether casting a line, tending to their gardens, or capturing special moments through her camera lens, she had a deep appreciation for life’s simple beauty. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Margie Duplessis, her brothers Glenn Duplessis and Teddy Duplessis, her sister Linda Duplessis; as well as her late husband Milton (Mickey) Jackson. She is survived by her loving husband Lawrence Lyle Dixon, her daughter Glynna Duplessis Finnerty, son Matthew Duplessis, grandsons Blaise Mahaffey and Deacon Finnerty, her brother Brett Duplessis (Joyce) and Dana Duplessis (Victoria). She is also survived by her stepdaughter Amy Dixon and stepsons Chet Dixon and Chad Dixon(Paige), step-grandchildren, Lennon Arceneaux, Alaina Mitchell, Carmen Dixon, Cole Dixon, and step-great granddaughter Lucy Duncan; all of whom she loved dearly and welcomed as family Ava will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the many moments she preserved and shared with those she loved.
