Ava R Nix

Ava Nix, 74, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026.

She was born on January 26, 1952, in Evansville, Indiana. She was married to her loving husband, William Nix, for 38 years. Ava will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and those close to her.

Ava had a passion for the car community and loved being part of the "Pair A Dice Cruisers" car club, where she proudly served as past President. She retired from GE Company, where she dedicated many years of her career.

She is survived by her husband, William Nix; her step sons, Bill Q. Nix II and Irvin Kenneth Nix; her sister, Karen Robinson; her nieces, Lisa Riley and Kristena Robinson; her aunt, Virginia Gardner; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Braker, and her grandson, Bradly Harris.

A service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home. Details will be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society.

She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.

The family would like to welcome everyone to a Memorial Service to honor Ava on Saturday March 21, 2026 beginning at 11am until the Funeral Service begins at noon.
