PENDLETON, NC - Ava Burke Parrish, beloved wife, sister, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the age of 72. Born to loving parents Henry Willard Burke and Bernice Nipper Burke in Hertford County, her enduring spirit touched many lives both near and far.

Ava built a longstanding career as a Sales Service Coordinator, dedicating 37 years to Excellence with Resinall. Her professional commitment mirrored her passion for life's simple pleasures. She cherished time spent at the beach, reveled in all college sports, and proudly supported her beloved Carolina Tar Heels. Her flower garden was not just a hobby but a testament to her nurturing nature and appreciation for beauty.

Faith was a keystone in Ava's life. As a devoted member of Murfreesboro United Methodist Church, her spirit of service and community shone brightly for as long as her health permitted.

Preceded in death by her mother Bernice Nipper Burke, father Henry Willard Burke, and her special aunt Pat Sawyer, who held a cherished place in her life, Ava leaves behind a legacy of love. She is survived by her devoted husband, Cecil Parrish; her brothers, Jeff Burke of Colerain and Mike Burke and his wife Wanda of Nags Head; and her sister, Stacey Burke Hill of Danville, VA. Ava also leaves behind her special friend, "adopted" mother, Reba Hawkins of Harrellsville, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever treasure her memory.

A celebration of Ava's life will take place with visiting hours at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Murfreesboro United Methodist Church, located at 313 East High Street, Murfreesboro, NC. Services will commence at 2 PM under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Tyson. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Murfreesboro, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Murfreesboro United Methodist Church, 301 East High Street, Murfreesboro, NC 27855 or online by clicking here.
