SEVERN, NC - Charlie Buck Turner, 84, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025 in Ahoskie, North Carolina. Buck was born on July 5, 1941 to the late Henry and Mary Davis Turner in Branchville, Virginia.

He was a jack-of-all trades and worked for many years in the Maintenance Department at Resinall Corporation in Severn, NC until he retired following a serious hunting accident in 1995. Anyone who knew Buck knew that following his family, his greatest love in life was anything having to do with the outdoors, especially hunting. Hot or cold, raining or snowing, from September to January, he could be found in search of the famous white-tailed deer. He was also an accomplished trapper and taxidermist as he taught himself the trade following his retirement. Hunting and just being outdoors brought Buck much joy throughout his life, and he spent the summers just waiting for hunting season to come again, that is if he wasn't fishing or flying his radio-controlled airplanes which he constructed himself completely from scratch. Buck touched the lives of so many and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Vivian Barnes Turner; a very special granddaughter, Tyler Elaine Brittion (his Sweetheart); a grandson, Brandon Lee Griffin; his brothers, James, Raymond, Leon, and Tommy Turner; and his sisters, Camille Freeman and Myrtle Barnes.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Amy Turner Barnes of Severn, NC. Amy was not only Buck's daughter, she was his best friend and their bond was stronger than most could ever imagine. She loved him deeply and will miss him dearly. A special granddaughter, Kristen Lane Barnes (his Rosebud) of Cullowhee, NC; a brother, Donald "Frog" Turner and wife Alice of Ocala, FL; and Abby, his faithful and beloved beagle who was by his side riding or walking. Buck also had many nieces and nephews who will also remember him fondly.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Murfreesboro Chapel; 314 West Main Street; Murfreesboro, NC.

There will be a graveside service celebrating Buck's life on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 5:00 pm at the Severn Town Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. J Brabban officiating.
