Avery Capdeville Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Semien-Lewis Mortuary, LLC on Jul. 30, 2025.
Ulis Avery" Capdeville of Jennings, Louisiana. He departed this life peacefully on May 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Avery was born on September 23, 1938 in Duson, Louisiana to his loving parents, Mary Capdeville and Acy Capdeville. He shared a close bond as one of seven children with his parents. He was married to his beloved wife of over 30-years, Mary Arceneaux Capdeville. Together, they built a strong and loving family and raised three children, David (Alinza) Capdeville, Avery Ulis (Earlie Mae) Capdeville Jr., and his devoted daughter, Sharon (Larry) Daniel, who lovingly cared for him in his final days.

Avery was a man who believed in the value of hard work and working with his hands. He spent many years employed at PPG Industries as a plant worker before retiring. Beyond his formal work, he had a gift for various trades-mechanics, carpentry, and landscaping-and was always ready to lend a hand or build something from the ground up. He had a special love for trucks and tractors, which he cared for with pride.
In his free time, Avery enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in fishing and hunting. Avery leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and craftsmanship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Acy & Mary Capdeville; his wife, Mary Arceneaux Capdeville; his siblings, Huey (Shirley) Capdeville, Peter (Norma Jean) Capdeville, and John (Rose) Capdeville.

He is survived by his siblings Gloria Mae Chevis, David (Eula) Capdeville, and Elizabeth (Donald Ray) Pierre; his special friend, Romona Wilson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, sister-in-law, Ann Berry and friends; all of whom were blessed by his warmth, his skills, and his steady presence.

His life was one of devotion-to his work, his passions, and most of all, to his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
