Avery D. Marsee Jr.

Avery D Marsee Jr passed away 3/16/26 in Searcy, Arkansas.

Avery was born 1/15/48 in Cincinnati, OH to Avery, Sr and Opal Marsee. He grew up in Conway

Arkansas and graduated from Conway High School in 1966.

Avery married Jo Stuart in 1966 and they relocated to Searcy 1967.

He went on to work at Searcy Post Office for 37 years. After retirement he worked for First

Security bank for 10 years. Avery was well known within the community as "Avery at the Post

Office". Avery and Jo were long time members of Park Avenue Baptist Church and for many

years were very active in that community.Although most of them have preceded him in death he

had long term friendships throughout the years. Avery was known by his friends, family and

community as the man of few words that was always there when someone needed him. And

was, for the majority of his adult life, a pillar of this community.

Avery Marsee, Jr is survived by his children: Chris Marsee (Cathy) of Judsonia and Renee

Coffinger (Doug) of South Bend, Indiana. Grandchildren: Erica Henderson(John Paul) of Moreno

Valley, California, Draik Marsee (Amanda) of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Sydney Butler (Cole) of

Searcy, Arkansas, Stevi Zakrzewski of South Bend, Indiana and 8 great grandchildren. He was

preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Jo Marsee, his parents, Avery, Sr and Opal Marsee,

Sister Linda Dingley, and Brother-in-Law Bill Crawford.

A funeral will be held at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at

2:00pm. Visitation will be at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy on Friday, March 20, 2026 from

6-8pm.

The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice and Hannah with Tribute for their invaluable

assistance during the difficult last years.
