Avilio was born on June 19, 1953, to Mike and Martha Gonzales. In his younger years, Avilio traveled near and far for work as a sheep shearer, taking pride in his craft and the people he met along the way. He also dedicated many years to seasonal pecan work - always working hard.
Avilio was known by many names - "dad""Popo," "Papa Bill" Wild Bill," "Shiney," and "The Outlaw" - each one reflecting a different piece of him. In his younger days, he loved to dance and was never one to pass up a good song, whether it was in English or Spanish. Music was one of his many joys.
He loved being surrounded by his family, kids, grandkids, and friends. He was happiest at a cookout, always the first to ask, "When's the next barbecue?" He also had a few simple pleasures that brought him daily joy - his scratch-off tickets, his morning/afternoon coffee, it didn't matter what time of the day it was he like to drink coffee. Also cheering for his favorite football teams was something he kept up with. Though he rooted for the Packers and the Jets, in his later years, he proudly followed Aaron Rodgers to the Pittsburgh Steelers - proving his loyalty and love for the game never faded.
He left a mark on everyone who knew him.
Avilio is survived by his three sons: Avilio "Billy" Gonzales and wife Amber of
