Avis Hope Bruno, age 85, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
Services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Avis will then be laid to rest at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Avis was born in Gardiner, Maine on July 4, 1939 to Bernard Boothby and Dorothy (Grady) Boothby. She graduated high school and briefly continued her education. For many years she worked at Bendix and Allied Signal, currently known as Honeywell. In life, Avis enjoyed gardening, cooking, riding bicycle, going to casinos, vacationing, and above all, taking care of her grandnephew and nieces.
Avis was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Dorothy Boothby; brother, Gene Boothby; and sisters, Lynda Boothby Brann and Karen Boothby Young.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard "Dick" Bruno; sisters, Patricia Boothby Sawtelle (Ray) and Andrea Boothby Guiou; brother and sister in law, Judy and Dale Bruno; nephew, Mark Bruno (Melissa) and their children, Morgan Nelson (Grant), Molly Bruno, Mallory Bruno, and Mason Bruno.
