It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Axel James Carter, infant son, who was born on October 6, 2023. Axel's time on this Earth was short, as he passed away at birth. While his life may have been brief, his impact on our hearts will be everlasting.
Axel's family invites you to join them in honoring his memory and celebrating his precious life. Visitation services will take place at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 101 Oak Grove St., Mt. Holly, North Carolina, 28120 on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" Cemetery in Belmont.
Axel was a beloved child of Daniel Scott Carter and Arriana Marie Bustle. He brought immeasurable joy and love into their lives during his brief time with them. Axel's grandparents mourn his loss deeply. His maternal grandparents are Sheena and Jesse Russo, while his paternal grandmother is Sandy Carter. His paternal grandfather is Scott Carter and his fiance Stephanie Kohn.
Axel leaves behind a network of extended family who adored him dearly. His great grandmother is Tina Welch Abernathy, who is joined in grief by her husband Wayne. Axel's great grandfather is Steve Barnes and his wife Debbie. Additionally, Axel's great-great-grandmother is Michelle Carter and his great-great-grandfather is William "Bill" Welch.
In addition to his devoted parents and doting grandparents, Axel will be lovingly remembered by his uncle, Zane Russo; aunt, Maura Russo; aunt, Bailey Carter; aunt, Breanna Carter; uncle, Dustin Anderson; uncle, Angel Santos; aunt, Keara Lesperance; uncle, Brandon Kohn; aunt, Lily Kohn; uncle, Iven Kohn; aunt, Ryker Blake; and great aunt, Kara Lesperance. Each of them cherishes the moments they had with Axel and will forever hold him in their hearts.
Axel James Carter's presence may have been brief, but he touched the lives of those who knew him deeply. Although filled with sorrow, we find solace in knowing that Axel is now cradled in the arms of Jesus, watching over his family from above.
May his spirit find eternal peace, and may we always remember his precious light.
