Carol Sue Farris, beloved member of the Sharon Freewill Baptist Church, passed away on February 7, 2026, at Atrium Health Charlotte, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on December 6, 1960, in Gastonia, North Carolina, Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Carol found joy in the simple pleasures, from visiting the serene mountains to cooking for her family when she was able. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, and she cherished each moment spent with them. Carol was the proud wife of Terry Farris, with whom she shared 47 beautiful years of marriage.
Carol's memory will forever live on through her children, Steve Farris (Tammy), Darren Farris, and Jason Farris, alongside her daughter-in-law, Lisa Farris. She was a loving grandmother to Johnathan, Noah (Cheyanna), Bailey (Jordan), Ethan, Jacob, Evan, Declan, Hailey, Zoe, Violet, and Kendall, and a proud great-grandmother to Ivy and Alaina.
She is survived by her sisters, Donna, Bonnie, Beverly, Gina, Tina, and Tammy, as well as her brother, Richard.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Betty Gilliland Clark, her son, Michael "Shane" Farris, and her sister, Janet Clark. She is also preceded by her brothers, Kenny and Junior Clark.
