Aya Edwards

Aya Edwards, born in Korea in 1948, passed away on November 12th, 2025. Aya lived a life defined by resilience, independence, and an unwavering dedication to the people she cherished.
Aya met her husband, Ralph Edwards, at an Army picnic-a chance encounter that quickly grew into a deep and lasting love. Ralph passed away in 2002, but their story continued to define and inspire her for the rest of her life.
Coming to the United States with limited English, Aya taught herself the language through American television, a testament to her determination and strength. In 1975 they welcomed Thomas and he grew up seeing her grit, independence, and fierce spirit.
Aya was a private person with a fiery temper, but beneath that exterior was someone deeply loyal, caring, and surrounded by a strong circle of friends who adored her. Her community was a constant source of joy, laughter, and support throughout her life.
When Ralph passed, she remained remarkably strong and independent for the next 23 years, living life on her own terms and continuing to care deeply for her family.
Aya is survived by her son, Thomas Edwards, his wife, Cherlyn, and their three children: Gavin, Audrey, and Grant, all of whom brought her endless pride.
