Mrs. Azealea DeVault Bigelow Green, departed this life on November 12, 2024, peacefully at home. Born, June 16, 1944, in Gilbert, SC, she was the daughter of the late L. J. and Essie L. DeVault She was a 1963 graduate of Battin High School, Elizabeth, NJ and later attended Middlesex County College, Edison, NJ.
Azealea was a kind ang loving person who was passionate about her family and church family. She accepted Christ at an early age at Liberty Baptist Church, Elizabeth, NJ. She retired in 1995 from Verizon, after 32 years of service as a Senior Service Analyst
She relocated back to SC to the church she grew up in, Spring Hill AME Church. Azealea served in many compacities throughout the years as a faithful servant Azealea served as a Steward; Pastor's Aide President; Women's missionary; Financial Secretary; Class Leader; Choir; Senior Citizen's Secretary; Help Ministry; Women's Club and "Glory Girls" Book Club. In 2013, Azealea was recognized as Spring Hill AME Church's "Unsung Hero".
FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
Azealea leaves to cherish her memory; three daughters, Lareice L. Weeks-Bigelow, Nicole G. Bigelow and Monica Green; two sons, Willie K. Green (Leslie) and Vernon Green (Aundrea); three grandchildren, Daniel R. Bigelow, Wryder B. Bigelow and Eric Green; one great grandchild, Samuel R. Bigelow; two nephews, Keith D. DeVault (Brenda) and Eric Darby (Kimberly); one niece, Veronica S. Glover; five brother in-laws, Scotty Dashiell (Bernadette), Larry Dashiell (Lisa), Howard Dashiell (Delores), Phil Dashiell (Tina) and Walter Bigelow Jr.; one sister-in-law, Vivian Peart (Edward).
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lula B. Winston; her brother, Clarence J. DeVault; sisters-in-law, Gloria Bigelow and Emma Bradshaw; niece, Denise Davis and nephew, Derrick Darby.
