Funeral services for Mrs. B. J. Parker will be held 2:00 PM Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with Sister Gloria Chapman officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery of Bastrop under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, March 16th, beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

B. J. was born October 13, 1946 in Shreveport, Louisiana and she passed away on March 13, 2026 at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop, Louisiana. Mrs. Parker is preceded in death by her parents, Beulah Vance Clayton and Clarence Odell Clayton; two sisters, Barbara Simmons and Joyce Crabtree; and a brother, Grady Odell Clayton.

B.J. enjoyed gardening and was a talented artist. She enjoyed and loved to travel, especially on cruises, with her husband and sisters. The memories made with family on their numerous voyages will be forever cherished. B. J. was dearly loved by her husband, children, and family and their time spent together brought her much happiness.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gary Malcolm Parker; her two daughters, Janie Leonard and Tonya Leonard; and her son, John David Leonard. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Heather Flowers-Rice and her husband, Adam, Blair Andrews McCarty and her husband, David, Gage Anthony Rivera, Bailey Elizabeth Meziere and her husband, Jacob, and Robert Keith Parker and his wife, Jessica; two sisters, Edna Marie Pilinski and her husband, Richard, and Wilma Rae Watkins; a brother, James Clayton and his wife, Donna; and four great-grandchildren.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Boyce Copeland, Johnny Briley, John Stout, and Robert Parker. Honorary pallbearer is Maddox Rice.
