Badria Kas Shamoun Dado

December 1, 1940 - March 3, 2026

With sorrowful hearts, yet with faith and hope in the Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Badria Kas Shamoun Dado. Badria passed peacefully on March 3, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones, and entered into rest in the arms of the Lord.

Badria was born on December 1, 1940, to Zia and Naema Kas Shamoun, and was raised alongside her four brothers and three sisters in a home grounded in faith, love, and a true devotion to God. She was the cherished sister of: Shamasha Sabah, and the late Jamila Kas Shamoun Kalawa, Hania Zatouna, Gorgis, Hani and Kamil Toma Kas Shamoun.

In 1951, she was united in holy matrimony to her husband, Mikha Dado, with whom she built a family rooted in faith and sacrifice. Together they were blessed with seven children: Saad (Ibtisam Dado), Thair Dado, Sawsan (Raad Dado), Soha (Issam Acho), Waseem (Anne Dado), Wael (Marsha Dado), and their late son, Faris Dado. Through them, God granted her the fortune of 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the pride and joy of her life.

Badria lived by the cherished saying, "Pooshoo qariwe ta Eta" - translating to, "Remain close to the Church." Her life reflected on prayer, humility, generosity, and unwavering devotion to God and family. Her deep and fruitful prayers strengthened generations, and her home was always filled with warmth, comfort, and love.

In her final moments, she surrendered her soul to the Lord while holding a rosary and cross, listening to the Holy Rosary being prayed. She was a faithful servant returning to Christ in prayer, and prioritized spiritual growth over self obsession. She truly bared herself to Him through love, joy, and service until her final breath.

While we mourn her earthly departure, we take comfort in our faith, and trust that she has been welcomed into eternal peace and reunited with those who have gone before her.

May our Lord grant her eternal rest among the righteous, and may her memory be eternal.

"May the angels lead you into Paradise. May the martyrs receive you at your coming and lead you into the Holy City, Jerusalem."
