Beloved canine companion, Bailey Steve Bush, was born on April 15, 2011 to Nina and Booker in Lafayette, NY. He passed away into the loving arms of his family on August 12, 2025 - a hot, Havana, Cuba kind of day in keeping with his Havanese heritage. For 14 years and 4 months, he brought nothing but joy and love to everyone he met. Bailey was named after George Bailey from the Christmas classic, "It's a Wonderful Life", the Bush family's favorite film. It most certainly fit as that's exactly what they tried to give him and most certainly what he gave them in return. Bailey loved to pass the time looking out the window and barking at unfamiliar sights, running around and playing hide and seek with his family, eating and sleeping. He loved presents as he was always assured that underneath that gift bag tissue there was a tasty treat waiting for him. He especially loved tuna fish which he got in abundance on his birthday when he'd get a special tuna cake in his honor. Most of all, Bailey loved spending time with his family, following them around the house wherever they went and placing his heavy head at their side. Bailey played a very special role as mascot of B.L. Bush and Sons Funeral Home. He greeted families with his joyful, sweet temperament and was content to let them pet him and comfort them. He was as good a therapy dog as any and helped many families who were grieving. His ability to support those in need was truly a gift and his loving presence will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Bailey was predeceased by Grandpa and Grandma Bill and Dottie Bush and Grandma Lucille and Paul "Pop Pop" Hannon. Pop Pop surely greeted him in heaven with a hug and a smile - "Bailey, Ol' Buddy, you're here at last!" He is survived by his father, Brian of Camillus; his mother and "special person" Sharon of Camillus; sister Amanda; two brothers, Jeffrey (Genny) and Andrew, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who simply adored him beyond measure. Bailey was especially fond of Denise and "Grandpa" Rocky with whom he shared a special bond. Private services were held at B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, Camillus. Burial will be private at Colonial Oaks Cemetery in Aurora following the services. Bailey will rest comfortably for eternity as he overlooks the most beautiful sunsets on Cayuga Lake. Arrangements by the B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, Camillus. The family would like to thank Camillus Animal Clinic for their wonderful care and support. Let Bailey's greatest legacy be for each of us to love and care for one another, especially when we need it the most. Please sign his guestbook at www.BLBUSH.com
