Barbara Ellen Kenny, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Canal View – Houghton County following a lengthy illness.
Barb was born on February 6, 1942, in Trimountain, to the late Werner and Mildred (Jokela) Kenny. She attended local schools before moving to Detroit where she worked as a waitress.
Barb enjoyed word search and Sudoku puzzles. She was a family-oriented person who always put her family first and took care of the family home. She loved her pets and was very fond of cats and dogs.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Carl, Leo, Gordon, and David along with a sister Evelyn and sister-in-law Rose Kenny.
She is survived by 4 brothers: Al (Lori) Kenny of Paavola Robert Kenny of Canal View Ed (Judy) Kenny of Hancock Leroy Kenny of Hancock She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Per Barb's request, there will be no services. Burial will take place later this spring in the Mt. View Cemetery in South Range.
The family would like to thank the staff at UP Health System – Portage and Canal View for the compassionate care they have given to Barb.
