Thomas Patrick Kenny, age 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025. He was born on March 27, 1961, to his parents, Patrick Thomas and Rose Ann Kenny in Toledo, Ohio. With the exception of a few years in Las Vegas, NV, the South Toledo community would always be home. Tom was an avid and accomplished boater. Since early childhood he took to the water and felt comfortable at the helm of any boat. He was as accomplished a water skier as any in Northwest Ohio - from trick skiing to slalom skiing to barefooting. The Maumee River and Lake Erie provided a playground and community of family and friends where he thrived. Some of Tom's greatest memories include hunting with the boys at the marsh. The years living on the river and the escapades that came with a crew of friends that remained like brothers his whole life. He seized any opportunity to visit with family and friends in Vegas and enjoyed many adventures including trips to Utah, California and Hawaii. A trip to Ireland with his Uncle, Rev. James Say, was one of his most beloved early memories. He was a huge Buckeye fan and always looked forward to everything that came with Game Day at the "D". Tom graduated from St. John's High School in 1979, then attended Bowling Green State University and University of Nevada Las Vegas - graduating from UNLV in 1984 with a degree in Marketing. He started his professional life with Sig Rogich Advertising, Las Vegas before returning to Toledo to work for the family business, Kenny & Associates. Years later, he put his entrepreneurial spirit to work and ran his own small marketing firm, The Kenny Company. Most recently, he enjoyed the camaraderie of working alongside his brother and sister-in-law at Fire-Wood Creations. Tom is survived by his loving mother, Rose Ann Kenny; his sister, Kathy (Jim) Gabel, brothers, Jim (Karen) Kenny, Mike (Debra) Kenny; his 8 nieces and nephews, Mindy (Nick) Valeri, Ashley (RJ) Christyson, Kenny (Laurie) Gabel; Mackenzie (David) Eden, Michael (Christina) Kenny, Matthew Kenny, Sarah (Nick) Casdorph, and Diana (Sawyer) Mack; and 14 grand nieces and nephews, and many, many cousins & dear friends. Memorial services will begin in the reception area of St. John XXIII, 24250 N Dixie Hwy, Perrysburg, OH 43551 on Saturday, August 23 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. cousin Rev. Bill Kenny, Las Vegas, NV officiating. Interment will be private. Our family would like to welcome all attendees to join us at Roncalli Hall on the church grounds for a luncheon immediately following mass. Memorials may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. John XXIII. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, and we'd like to express a special, special thanks to our sister, Kathy, for her endless support and caregiving for Tom. Coyle Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
