Barb passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at her home in Killdeer.

Barbara Jean was born April 7,1945 to Cleo and Evelyn (Wahus) Veeder in Watford City, ND. She spent the first few years of her life in Watford City before moving to Killdeer, graduating from Killdeer High School in 1963.  Upon graduation, Barbara moved to Dickinson to work for the telephone company. It was during this time that she met Terry Reems. The two were united in marriage on June 21,1969 in Killdeer. To this union they were blessed with four children; Jay, Janell, Joe, and Jared.  Barb and Terry raised their family on the Reems home place North of Killdeer. She spent endless hours working cows, helping with farming, taking care of kids and raising bottle calves.  She had numerous milk cows through the years and always enjoyed her time spent with them.  Many animals were brought to the Reems Ranch and all were given a home and loved endlessly.   Her home was always open to everyone who wanted to stop and visit and have a cup of coffee.  Several years ago, she decided to move into town and had made that her home ever since.

Her involvement throughout the community did not go unnoticed. Barb worked various jobs in the Killdeer area. Planting trees, working for the newspaper, decorating cakes, and working as a receptionist at the Hill Top Home to name a few. Barb was an avid supporter of 4-H and served as a 4-H leader for many years. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church and lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as the Past President. Barb loved animals of all kinds, gardening, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and reading.  Her love for her grandkids was unmeasurable.  She was their biggest cheerleader and loved having them stop and visit whenever they had a chance.  She will be dearly missed by not only her family, but her many friends that she called Family.

Barb is survived by her children; Jay (Deidre) Reems, Janell (Chad) Smith, Joe Reems, and Jared (Christy) Reems; sisters, Edith Brown and Cynthia “Sam” (Frank) Ray.  She had many Grandchildren, Honorary Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren that she was extremely proud of.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Terry and her Brother-in-Law, Jim Brown.

Donations may be given in Barbs name to the Oakdale Cemetery, Killdeer Saddle Club, or Dunn County 4-H.
