Barbara Eileen Amend, 84, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024. She was born September 1, 1940, in Uniontown, PA, where she lived until moving in with her son in Chalk Hill, PA, for the past four years of her life. Barbara was the only child of the late William (Veto) Mangello and Carmelia (Nellie) Lovey.
Barbara Mangello married Edward Regis Amend on July 22, 1961. Rege preceded her in death on April 28, 2018. She was an integral behind-the-scenes part of the several businesses, including Amend's Jewelry, Hobbyland USA, and Amend Enterprises, which she and Rege ran for more than 40 years.
She is survived by her children Christa Amend Kuhn, Edward R. Amend and wife Heidi Carman, and William D. Amend and wife Robin; grandchildren Jeremy Kuhn and wife Jessica, Jordan Kuhn and wife Kendra, Jason Kuhn, Jenna Kuhn, Gillian Amend, Evan Amend, Nathan Guerriere and wife Tia, Grace Amend, and Sofia Amend; great-grandchildren Isabella and Charlotte Kuhn and Santino Guerriere; and nephew Joseph Amend, wife Judy, their children Greg and Chris, and their families.
Barbara was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church for many years. She was active with her friends and the community. Being an only child, Barbara always made strong connections and sought comfort from her closest friends, including JoAnn and Tim Holub, Delphine Kennedy, Mary Jane Barkett, the late John Tringhese, Andy Hrebenar, Sonnie Cesarino, and the many friends she made through her favorite pastimes, bowling, going to the casino, and the Circus Model Builders.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD (1189 National Pike, Hopwood, Pa. 15445) on Tuesday December 3, 2024 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm. Prayers of transfer will be said at 9:30am at the funeral home and a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, Pa. at 10am on Wednesday December 4, 2024. Interment will be held in Oaklawn Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
