Barbara Andres Parsons, Independence, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Montgomery Place in Independence, Kansas. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2024, at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. The family will greet visitors on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 12:00 Noon until service time.
Barbara was born June 13, 1940, to John D. and Nellie Lela (Scott) Andres. She attended and graduated from Independence High School Class of 1958. Barbara was employed by Nazarene Publishing House and City Publishing as a proofreader until her retirement. Barbara was an avid reader, she enjoyed traveling, collecting Wolves, and spending time with family and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory include two children, Charles ( Mary Kay) Johnston, Kansas City, Kansas; Deborah ( Kevin) McMillan, Kansas City, Kansas; four grandchildren Sheena McMillan, Michael McMillan, Eric McMillan, Kyle McMillan, and three great-grandchildren, Nikolas Augustine, Maxxwell Augustine and Auroa McMillan.
