Meta Lucille Goins, 89, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Neodesha, Kansas, passed away on February 26, 2026, at The Terraces Care Center in Boise.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Neodesha Church of the Nazarene in Neodesha, Kansas, with burial to follow at Starr Cemetery in Neodesha. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the church.
Meta was born on October 28, 1936, in Russell, Kansas, to Lester and Anna Brannum. In 1952, her family moved to Independence, Kansas, where she later graduated from Independence High School in 1954.
On August 5, 1956, she married Willard Goins in Independence, Kansas. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work. Meta was a devoted homemaker and worked alongside her husband on the family farm for many years. Earlier in life she worked at the courthouse in Independence, and after retiring from farm work she enjoyed driving a school bus.
Meta was a faithful member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Neodesha. She was active in church life, teaching Sunday School, playing piano for worship services, and singing in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Goins, and her brother, Jack E. Brannum.
She is survived by her children: Greg Goins; Boise, Idaho Wade Goins and his wife Michelle; Eldrado, California and Terri Adkins and her husband Mike: Omaha, Nebraska: She also leaves six grandchildren: Nicole, Steve, Luke, Cal, Joe, and Grace; and four great-grandchildren: Chance, Evelynn, Easton, and one additional great-grandchild Ryleigh.
