Loran Fawcett Chapel - NeodeshaJan Renee Botts, a shining light in the lives of many, was born on June 6, 1952, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, to her loving parents, Max T. Files and Phyllis Y. Files. With grace and warmth, she brought joy to everyone she encountered before peacefully passing away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 73.
For 44 beautiful years, Jan was the devoted wife of Jimmie L. Botts, sharing a bond that only deepened over time. The couple welcomed a cherished daughter, Nicole R. Novotni, who blossomed under Jan's nurturing spirit and unwavering love.
Jan's professional journey was marked by nearly four decades at Cobalt Boats. After retiring in 2018, she filled her days with the things she loved-crafting, embracing the joy of creativity, and honing her skills in competitive shooting during her younger years.
Jan will be remembered not only for her exceptional talents and diligence but also for her compassion and genuine care for others. Her legacy will forever live on through her husband, Jimmie; her beloved daughter, Nicole; her cherished grandson, Maddox Novotni; and her many treasured nieces and nephews. The warmth she shared will echo in the hearts of her great and great-great nieces and nephews, reminding all of the profound impact she had in life.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents and her dear brother, Dennis Files. As we hold close the memories of her laughter, her kindness, and her unyielding love, we look to celebrate her life in a way that honors the beauty of her spirit.
A graveside service for Jan Renee Botts will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Neodesha City Cemetery. In this serene setting, family and friends will gather to pay their respects, to share stories, and to celebrate a life well-lived.
In this time of remembrance, we invite all who knew and loved Jan to join us in honoring her memory and cherishing the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
