Ruth Hackworth, born on January 22, 1935, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at the age of 90. Ruth was a kind, loving, and giving person, known for her warmth and generosity.
Ruth married the love of her life, Jack and they moved to Arizona where they raised two beautiful daughters, Belinda and Lugene. Ruth was a devoted mother and grandmother, cherishing her relationships with her family, including her grandchildren and her many Great grandchildren.
Ruth was actively involved in her community, serving as a member of the women’s auxiliary. Ruth loved hunting, fishing, camping and the many farm animals she acquired after retiring to her birth home in Neodesha.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Pearl, her three sisters, a brother, her husband Jack and her daughter Lugene. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Belinda Spradling, her Grandchildren April Cobbs, Josh Lieb, Shande Chapman, and Stacha Howbert, as well as her great grandchildren Caden Cobbs, Jacob Lieb, Rachel Lockhart, Abby Lockhart, Bridget Chapman, Braden Chapman, Tyler Chapman, Tavis Meyer, Jack Meyer, Mason Howbert, and Harlow Howbert.
Ruth will be remembered for her loving spirit, her deep commitment to family, and her love for cooking.
A graveside service will be held in Ruth’s honor at 2pm at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas, on Thursday January 8th. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and share cherished memories.
Rest in peace, Ruth. Your love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew you.
