Norma Jean McBride, 90, departed this life on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in Fredonia, Kansas.

Norma Jean was born on December 2, 1935, in Neodesha, Kansas the daughter of Charles Cole and Alma (Atterberry) Cole.

On December 10, 1953, in Fredonia, Kansas she was united in marriage to John Weldon McBride and her preceded her in death December 7, 2009

Norma attended Neodesha and Fredonia schools and graduated from Fredonia High School 1953. Her love for family was evident in everything she did. Norma enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing pinnacle, and spending cherished moments with her grandchildren.

She was a beloved homemaker known for her kind and welcoming personality.

She is survived by her children, Marcia (Raymond) Johnson of Howard, Kansas, Sandra (James) Turner of Fredonia, Kansas, Diana (Daniel) Rockers of Arma, Kansas, and Teresa Rollings of Severy, Kansas. Norma also leaves behind her brothers, Jerry Cole and Richard Cole, both of Fredonia, Kansas. A proud grandmother, she is remembered by her 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her son Stephen McBride, daughter Pamela DeWitt, grandson, Charles Watters, sister Mary Lou, and brothers Don, Charles, and Clarence "Buddy".

Friends and family can gather to honor her memory on February 24, 2026. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 PM at Wickham Family Funeral Home located at 510 N 7th St, Fredonia, Kansas.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to Pound Pals or the Fredonia Food Bank, and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.

Norma Jean McBride will be dearly missed by all who knew her, as she brought warmth and joy to many lives.

Servcies are under the guidance and care of Wickham Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 510 North 7th, Fredonia, Kansas.
