Pamela Rene Hockett, was born on February 12, 1970, in Stella, Missouri, to James and Sheila Kirk McCann, Pamela passed away on Thursday October 23, 2025, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose legacy will continue to resonate in the lives she touched.
Pamela was a proud graduate of Fredonia High School, Class of 1988. She dedicated much of her early career as a dietary aide, then as a convenience store clerk at Pete's in Erie until 2007. Her kindness and dedication to her work made a lasting impression on all who knew her.
In her personal life, Pamela was known for her adventurous spirit. A member of the American Legion, she shared a passion for riding motorcycles and cherished her time spent outdoors. Her creative pursuits included baking, diamond painting, and bargain hunting, with a particular affection for garage sales.
Pamela was united in marriage to Gary Hockett on June 20, 1998, in Toronto, Kansas. They enjoyed 13 years together until his passing in 2011, leaving behind beautiful memories of their time as partners in life.
She is survived by her loving mother, Sheila Splechter of Shasta Lake, California, her three children—Stacy Davidson of Thayer, Kansas, Dakota Suskey of Joplin, Missouri, and Anthony Hockett of Chanute, Kansas. Pamela also leaves behind her siblings, James, Deeanne, and Dee Dee, along with 7 adoring grandchildren who brought immense pride and joy to her life.
Cremation has taken place, with a celebration of life at a later date. Wickham Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been trusted with the arrangements.
