Loyce McBride Obituary
Services are Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at Lilly of the Valley COGIC 1222 Main St. Anahuac, TX. Visitation will begin at 9AM until Funeral at 10AM. Interment will be in Johnson Cemetery Liberty, TX.
Pastor McBride proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve during the Korean War. After his service, he worked for Brown & Root before answering a higher calling. Devoted to his faith, he became a pastor and went on to found; the Power House Church of God in Christ in Ames, Texas, where he ministered for many years. His life's work reflected his unwavering commitment to God, family, and community.
Known for his warm spirit and easy smile, Pastor McBride never met a stranger. Whether out and about in town or visiting with friends and neighbors, he always took time to stop, talk, and share a moment. He especially loved giving nicknames to those he cared about-most memorably to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who cherished the affection behind each one. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and connection to all who knew him.
Pastor McBride adored his beloved wife, Jewel (Smith) McBride (transitioned), and cherished his children: Loise Marie Adams (Leonard, transitioned); Lawrence James McBride (Sheila, transitioned); Linda Ann McBride; Russell Charles McBride (transitioned) (Janice); and Michael Ray Lewis McBride (Ray). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James McBride and Mary McBride (Johnson) and his siblings Fay Lee Jones, Doris McBride, Mary Ann Lewis, Estella Antoine, James McBride, Cornelius McBride, Letlo McBride, Daniel McBride, Irene Harris, Dora Robinson, and Jossie Godfrey.
Pastor McBride's legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, his church, and the many people whose lives he touched. His memory will forever be a blessing.
