Barbara E. Bailey

Barbara E. (Phinney) Bailey, lifelong resident of West Wareham, passed away with her husband by her side, on December 29, 2025 at the age of 87. She was the daughter of the late Elmira D. (Beaton) and Gilbert C. Phinney.

Barbara was raised in West Wareham and graduated from Wareham High School. She married the love of her life, Jon E. Bailey, in 1958 and the two settled in West Wareham where they would raise their family. Barbara worked for her family business that she ran with her husband and at Tobey Hospital as a transcriber.

Barbara was an avid reader and crafter. She loved traveling with her husband - PEI being their favorite. Barbara enjoyed genealogy and was a longtime member of the Historical Commission. Above all, family was the most important to her. She was a caretaker to several family members over the years.

Barbara was the loving wife of 67 years to Jon E. Bailey. Mother of Lauren Bailey, Jeanne Bailey and Erik Bailey and his wife Debora. Grandmother of Jessica Mulholland and her husband Jonathan, Nicole Anzivino, and Justin Bailey. Great Grandmother to Miguel Ixcuna, Finn Mulholland and Gabriael Lucas. Sister of Malcolm Phinney and his wife Catherine, and the late Richard Phinney.
