John "JB" Hicks, a lifelong resident of Wareham, passed away on November 26, 2025, at the age of 54. He was the son of the late Darlene S. Allemao (Dolly).
Born on January 12, 1971, JB grew up in Wareham and graduated from Wareham High School in 1989. Following High School, he built a long and dedicated career working with Robertson's GMC, Autopart International, and ultimately found his home working alongside his family at Robertson's Auto Body as an auto appraiser.
In 2007, JB married the love of his life, Cindy (Vaccaro). Together they made their home in the house where he was raised, keeping a warm and loving place for their family.
JB was known for his friendly, funny, and outgoing nature. He greeted everyone with a bright smile, and his ability to connect with people earned him the nickname, "The Mayor of Wareham" from his wife. Self-less and dependable, JB was always the first to offer help. JB was talented with his hands and was able to build, fix, or repair anything around the house. Over the years, he enjoyed motorcycles, working outdoors, restoring cars, and most recently, cruising in his vintage convertible foxbody Mustang.
Most mornings JB would be found working out with the early crew at the Gleason Family YMCA, where he formed many lasting friendships. He loved camping and traveling with his family, especially trips to Myrtle Beach. Above all, JB was an amazing husband and father. He cherished spending time with his family and has passed on his mechanical mind to his son Grayson.
JB leaves behind his loving wife of 18 years, Cindy Hicks; his treasured children, London Elizabeth Hicks and Grayson Arthur Hicks; and his siblings Steve Hicks and his wife Sarah, Todd Hicks, Bethany Ripley, Neil Hicks and additional sibling Randy Bond. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nephews and countless dear friends.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 14th from 2:00PM-5:00PM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28).
